Cortometraje elaborado con muñecos de plastilina y animado mediante stop-motion que narra las aventuras y maravillas que el pequeño Kip vivirá junto a una extraña banda de tres particulares músicos en la gran ciudad.

"Nacido en 1964, el maestro Yamamura, inicia su carrera creando pequeñas animaciones cuando aún estaba cursando la secundaria, en ese entonces con apenas 13 años. Desde el inicio su trabajo llamaba la atención; su particular visión que se separaba dramáticamente del concepto que reinaba en el Japón con respecto al anime y las artes visuales.

Sus trabajos combinan la escultura en barro con figuras tridimensionales, fotografía, crayola y multimedia, mezclando técnicas y tendencias como el puntillismo y minimalismo, llevándonos a través de un mundo único donde la experimentación da como resultado nuevas tendencias visualmente impactantes y ricas en contenido. El surrealismo que impera en su trabajo y su tremenda sujeción a la estética pura, se traduce en un placer para los sentidos, donde el anime sé reinventa, transformándose a sí mismo.

En el año de 1993 el maestro funda el Yamamura Animation Inc. siendo inmediatamente reconocido y solicitado para realizar trabajos, logrando inclusive ser invitado en un tiempo muy corto ( de hecho todo un tiempo record que hasta la fecha ningún estudio a logrado ), a formar parte de la Asociación de Animación Japonesa y el Japan Chapter of the International Animated Film Associated, donde frecuentemente es buscado por los estudios de animación para que supervise los departamentos creativos tanto en el Japón como fuera de él.

Al igual que Tabaimo el maestro utiliza como excusa la critica a la sociedad contemporánea, satirizándola brillantemente por medio del uso de iconos de la cultura japonesa, y la actitud despreocupada de la sociedad hacia la tradición. La película animada Mthead, siendo su más conocido, la logrado recibir el reconocimiento de la critica internacional, gracias al peculiar sentido del humor utilizado por Yamamura, algunas veces algo insólito para el público occidental."

Cortometraje basado en diferentes historias de la mitología hawaiana, en combinación con el estilo artístico de etnias oceánicas del Pacífico Sur. Todas estas historias cortas tienen algo en común: la noción de que los niños son sagrados.

Faith Hubley (16 September 1924 - 7 December 2001) was an animator, known for her experimental work both in collaboration with her husband John Hubley, and on her own following her husband's death.

Born as Faith Chestman to Sally and Irving Chestman, Hubley grew up on the west side of Manhattan in the 1920s and 1930s. She spoke little about her childhood, except that her behavior became somewhat of a burden to her parents. She left home at age 15 to work in the theater and adopted the name Faith Elliott. Aged 18, she moved to Hollywood, starting as a messenger at Columbia Pictures. She subsequently worked as a sound-effects and music editor, and then script clerk for Republic Pictures. She later worked as a script supervisor (12 Angry Men) and editor (Go, Man, Go; with the Harlem Globetrotters).

Faith and John Hubley were married in 1955. They founded Storyboard Studios as an independent animation studio, vowing to make one independent film a year. They collaborated on 21 short films, up until John Hubley's death during open-heart surgery in 1977.

At that time they were working on the Doonesbury television cartoon, A Doonesbury Special. Faith Hubley, with Garry Trudeau and Bill Littlejohn, completed the special despite the doubts of NBC executives. The Hubleys won Oscars for their shorts: Moonbird (1959), The Hole (1962) and A Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass Double Feature (1966); they also received Oscar nominations for Windy Day, Of Men and Demons, Voyage to Next and A Doonesbury Special.

Hubley was often regarded as simply an assistant to John, who was always credited as director on their films. However her many solo projects established her as a significant film creator in her own right. She began her first solo project, W.O.W. (Women of the World), after being diagnosed with cancer in 1975.

Between 1976 and 2001, she completed 24 further solo animated films. Her films often feature abstract imagery and non-linear stories; many draw on themes of mythology and indigenous art. She was also a painter, with her works being exhibited in galleries in Europe and the United States.

Un día el oficinista Jacob L, Yankale para su madre, llega inexplicablemente tarde al trabajo. Para dar con el motivo de tal retraso nos adentraremos en su rutina, pasando por su infancia y la edípica relación entre él y su asfixiante madre.

 

Este film elaborado a partir de dibujo sobre acetato fue ganador de un total de ocho premios,  entre los que destacan el Primer Premio al mejor cortometraje Internacional en el Festival de Cracovia, Polonia, el año 1996.

"This film considers the case of Jakob L (Yankale), a lowly civil servant who fails to turn up to work one day. We get to know more about him, his life, his childhood, and above all his relationship with his oppressive mother. His childhood is portrayed as a peaceful island, where time and formalities do not exist. The contrast between the square shapes of the office world and the rounded, organic forms of the sea and the island emphasize the conflict between our desires and our duties. This film won eight prizes at international film festivals."
